Congratulations are in order for Toyo Eatery and Metiz for being included in The 50 Best Asian Restaurant List this 2023. Toyo Eatery ranked No. 42 and has been on the list 5 times while first-time awardee Metiz came in at No. 48. Chef Jordy Navarra of Toyo Eatery and Chef Stephan Duhesme of Metiz and their partners both attended the ceremony to accept their awards held last night Resort World Sentosa in Singapore. Additionally, Toyo Eatery also received the Flor de Caña Sustainable Restaurant Award 2023 due to the restaurant’s efforts in “prioritizing the sustainability of people, cultural heritage, and terroir, all of which are central to preserving the planet”.

Both restaurants are proponents of modern Filipino cuisine and are in the same compound located along Chino Roces Avenue Extension.

Thai restaurant Le Du in Bangkok was awarded the No. 1 rank this year and Best Restaurant in Thailand. In attendance during the event was also Filipina chef Johanne Siy of Singapore‘s Lolla restaurant who was awarded Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants’ Asia’s Best Female Chef award.
