Saute the garlic, red onion and ginger in oil.
Add the star anise and bu-o mushrooms and cook for 3 minutes.
Pour the soy sauce and brown sugar. Cook for 2 mins until almost dry. Discard the star anise and Set aside.
Mold the ground beef into a burger patty. Season with salt and pepper
Cook the patty for two minutes on each side.
Top with cheese and cover until the cheese melts.
Spread the butter on the buns and toast.
Assemble the burger, place the romaine lettuce on the bun followed by the patty then the sauteed mushroom. Top with the bun then serve.
