Tourists who have visited Malaysia can attest to how popular and Old Town Coffee is with over 150 branches dotting the country. Also, aside from the usual durian treats and instant noodles, Old Town Coffee is a top food souvenir to bring home from Malaysia. What’s also nice about it is, whether you’re enjoying it from a branch in Kuala Lumpur or from a coffee sticks at home (that you’ve bought from local groceries and supermarkets, Shoppee or Lazada), you get to taste the same velvety smooth and decadent taste its three-bean blend, Ipoh white coffee is known for.

Maybe it’s this deep love and appreciation for Malaysia’s beloved coffee brand that the company has finally decided to open its first franchise in the Philippines! That’s right! A netizen posted in a Facebook account that the first official Old Town Coffee store will open at SM Grand Central in Caloocan City.
The store can be seen with a boardup that included the message “Get ready for Malaysian flavors!” If this is a tease of things to come, then apart from their brews, we can expect some of their signature kopitiam offerings like the classic Nasi Lemak, Kaya & Butter Toast, noodle soups like laksa and curry mee, and dim sum.
As of now the store has yet to announce its opening. Till then, we’ll stay excited and settle for the individual coffee sticks just until the first Old Town Coffee Store opens in SM Grand Central, hopefully real soon.
