Remember Iron Man 2, where, after a long night of fighting the bad guys, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) took a break on top of a giant donut while enjoying some sweet treats? That iconic place is known as Randy’s Donuts, a well-established institution in Los Angeles, California that’s easy to spot with its big donut signs. And it is finally coming here to the Philippines!
If you’re not familiar with the scene in Iron Man 2, you might have spotted Randy’s Donuts in various other films and shows, including The Kissing Booth 3, Arrested Development, and 2012. It also appeared in some music videos like Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop The Feeling!,” Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Californication”, and Becky G’s “Becky from the Block.”
Randy’s Donuts, baking soon in the Philippines
The nearly 70-year-old brand specializes in huge deep-fried donuts in classic glazed (as enjoyed by RDJ in Iron Man 2) and a wide range of delicious flavors. You can keep an eye out for flavors like Fruit Loops Raised, Apple Fritter, Jelly Raspberry, Butter Crumb, S’mores and Maple Raised with Churros. Just reading about these flavors is making our mouths water.
Soon, we’ll be able to see iconic big donut signs in our own city. The Bistro Group is the one bringing Randy’s Donuts closer to our homes. They’re also the ones who brought us TGI Fridays, Hard Rock Cafe, and Watami.
Randy’s Donuts is set to open in April 2022 near Denny’s in Uptown Parade in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. So you can definitely take your photos with their iconic sign soon. We’re just not sure if you can sit on it like Iron Man did. We mean, he’s Iron Man…
Maybe we could leave the risky poses for the superheroes and just settle for regular photos like regular people?
