In a pan over medium heat, sauté onions, garlic, and star anise in oil until fragrant, translucent, and soft.

In a bowl, combine vinegar, soy sauce, sautéed mixture, pork broth, pineapple juice, and sugar, mixing until sugar is dissolved.

Add ground pork, season with salt and pepper, and mix until well combined. Set aside and marinate for 30 minutes.

In a large non-stick pan, cook the ground pork mixture over medium heat until almost dry. Set aside some humba for topping.

Mix in rice and taosi. Toss until everything is well incorporated. Serve hot with sliced soft boiled eggs.
